Oral mucositis impairs patients' functionality, with an impact on QoL proportional to disease severity.

• Even a score of 1 or 2 (mild or moderate) was associated with a significant reduction in QoL.
• All QoL scores continued to decline until Week 6, coinciding with the peak of mouth and throat soreness (MTS).
• After Week 6, all QoL scores rose.
