Burden Pain Management and Risk of Infection and Sepsis
  • Pain management may require analgesics or opioids:
    • A recent study reported that 87% of patients with severe mucositis used analgesics regularly during RT, while 70% of patients required opioid treatment.

 

  • To overcome bacterial or fungal infections, antibiotics and antifungal drugs might be administered.
